She recently mentioned, 'I'm such a homebody. I love Ireland. The weather suits me, especially the rain and fresh air. She was born and raised in Malahide, Dublin , and still lives there today. She is proud to be a part of the same village as her mother and sister, and her children attend the same school she did.
She spoke fondly of her sister, who is just a little older, and how they helped each other grow up. She also mentioned her connection to Cork and Kerry, where she feels her roots lie. She writes in the attic of her home, which is painted entirely white, with only her books and art adding color
