A fire in the 5800 block of Edenfield Road displaced four adults and two children Wednesday, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said.
JFRD first responded around 5:45 p.m. to reports of smoke showing. Upon arrival, crews worked to clear the apartments quickly and discovered that many occupants were not home or the units were vacant.
Crews got the fire under control around 6:30 p.m. In total, eight apartments were affected by the fire.
