The detective series debuted on ITV in 2022, with Dunbar playing the title role of retired Detective Inspector Alex Ridley, who tragically lost his wife and daughter in an arson attack on the family home.
The series averaged an audience of 6.3 million over the four episodes and marked ITV's fourth biggest new drama launch that year., promising more crime-solving in a further four two-hour films."There can be no greater endorsement of hard work and talent than the recommission of a series, and to that end we have to thank ITV and the British public for taking to Ridley in such numbers," said Dunbar.
"We shall certainly work just as hard to keep the standard we have set and I look forward to developing Ridley as a character over the next four episodes."
