There's a lot of change in store for E4's soap Hollyoaks with the news of yet another actor stepping down which means the loss of 12 cast members so far this year
Hollyoaks is in turmoil as Ross Adams becomes the latest star to leave the show after almost ten years - Ross announced his departure from the show on Sunday 17 March.
Ross continued: “I’m excited just to see what else is out there. It’s been over 10 years since I last had an audition so just the thought of that is exciting. Also, when you’re at Hollyoaks you’re on first call to them – your priority is the show. Ross’ exit comes just days after another shock departure. The Sun reported that Jamie Lomas made the decision to quit the Channel 4 soap. A source said: “Jamie has been at the centre of some of the soap’s biggest storylines and has been back in Hollyoaks now for nearly eight years which is a long time.
Kate Little and Claire Poyser, managing directors of Lime Pictures, commented: "Given the success of the new streaming-first model, we are delighted that Hollyoaks remains at the forefront of Channel 4's digital first strategy.
But it’s not all bad news with two familiar faces joining the show. EastEnders star Rita Simons is joining the cast as Marie Fielding, Joel Dexter and Abe Fielding’s mum. Rita makes her debut on the E4 episode airing on Monday 18 March and as she told Digital Spy, there’s a lot in store.
