Blackpool looked even more brilliant this weekend!
Blackpool celebrated in style as its annual Summer Pride celebration took place in the scorching sunshine.
Large crowds gathered in the resort as the inclusive event saw eight hours of entertainment and included a colourful parade along the seafront. The plethora of rainbow flags were matched by bright outfits as families, organisations, businesses and the likes of police officers dressed for the occasion.
Organisers said the event aimed to"celebrate love, diversity, and equality for all" and a packed lineup was arranged for the new location at Winter Gardens. Among those booked to appear were Union J's Jaymi Hensle; Alex Party; Nicki French; and Coronation Street star Antony Cotton.A host of stalls, merchandise food and drink outlets were set up as well as a youth and family zone and a neurodiversity time-out space and local businesses also got involved with extra events as well.
It said:"A HUGE thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for making yesterday possible! It's thanks to their kind donations and continued love and support that enables us to do what we do. Pride in Blackpool would not be possible if it wasn't for you." A spokesperson for Blackpool Council said:"Blackpool Promenade was dazzling in a rainbow of colours earlier today as the Pride Blackpool Parade took over town. It’s so fantastic to see the town buzzing with local organisations, businesses and people of all ages from near and far supporting and enjoying the annual Pride festival!"
