You can now officially apply for the brand new social welfare payment, which is for people who lose their job on or after Friday 28th March - it is double the current Jobseeker's rate
The government have released further details on how people can avail of a brand new social welfare payment.
There are a number of conditions in place in order to determine how much one is able to claim - here's everything you need to know plus how you can apply. How much is it? In 2025, Jobseeker’s Pay-Related Benefit weekly rate, if you have at least 260 paid PRSI contributions:
