Armed police were scrambled to a number of streets in Salford after reports a man was assaulted with a firearm.
The Manchester Evening News understands a man was struck and injured by what is believed to have been a firearm, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. The force, however, said no arrests have been made. A spokesperson said there's nothing to suggest 'any threat to the wider community' and confirmed road closures have now been lifted. Unverified reports on social media suggested police surrounded a black car near to the Tesco.
