Lancashire Constabulary has launched an appeal for witnesses following the terrifying incident at Bargain Booze on Bolton Road

Lancashire Constabulary were called to the shop on Bolton Road in Darwen shortly after 9pm last night following reports of a robbery. Officers said two members of staff were threatened by the offender, who was seen carrying an unknown weapon, before demanding money.

The suspect made off with a quantity of cash and was last seen heading in the direction of Blackpool Street. No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.Detectives have launched an appeal for witnesses following the terrifying incident. No description has been released of the suspect but anyone who witnessed the robbery or who was in the area at the time is being urged to contact police.

A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called to Bargain Booze, Bolton Road, Darwen, at approximately 9.08pm yesterday to reports of a robbery. The male suspect, who was carrying a weapon, threatened two members of staff and demanded money. "After stealing cash, he made off in the direction of Blackpool Street. Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who was in the area at the time, are asked to call 101, quoting log 1285 of September 16."
