Are gyms back for good? Meet the latest niche fitness studio expanding aggressively in the Bay Area.

A recently acquired Australian-born boutique fitness chain is coming to the Bay Area with a splash, inking franchise agreements to open seven studios across the region over the next few years, the company announced this week.

The expansion follows the brand's acquisition in 2021 by Xponential Fitness, one of the largest global boutique fitness franchisors. Body Fit, whose U.S. headquarters is in Irvine, has more than 200 studios in the Pacific Asia and Australia region and 500 licensed or in the pipeline.
