A member of the public discovered the whippet cross lurcher near Cornock Street on January 31.Inspector Jennifer Connolly said: “We initially received a call from a member of the public who discovered the dog’s body at around 4.30pm on January 31.
“We advised them to call the dog warden for uplift and that the warden will contact us if there are any suspicious circumstances around the animal’s death.“The dog is a female, tan, whippet cross lurcher who is three years old. She was wearing a black collar.”Jennifer added: “Unfortunately, we have been unable to get in touch with Storm’s previous owner as the contact details we have for them are out of date.
“We believe they rehomed the dog last year and we’d encourage them to come forward as they could help us piece together details of what happened to Storm since she left their care. “If anyone recognises this dog or has any information, we would ask that they contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
