Bookmakers have suggested that Craig Doyle could become a "permanent fixture" on ITV's This Morning, following the departure of co-host Phillip Schofield.
The Dubliner, popular with ITV bosses, hosted the This Morning show today alongside Holly Willoughby, with the pair taking the sofa together once again on Thursday. The 52-year-old, who is a regular relief presenter for This Morning, is the main anchor on BT Sport Premiership, European Champions Cup rugby coverage and MotoGP motorcycle racing, with Irish audiences familiar with his RTÉ One show, Tonight with Craig Doyle.
Viewers praised his confidence and ease on screen when the Irish broadcaster filled in for fellow Irishman Dermot O'Leary, who was celebrating his milestone 50th birthday party, two weeks ago. Bookmakers Ladbrokes have now weighed in and slashed the odds on the Dubliner's chance at securing a full-time place on the sofa that Holly Willoughby shared with Schofield for 14 years.
