“He was a gifted man with his hands, whether it was fixing or making various toys for the grandchildren, or working as a massage therapist.Known affectionately as Grandpa PJ, the love he had for his family was also recalled. She was recalled by Fr Charles Byrne as someone who dedicated her life to caring for others and was a “gentle and generous person.”He said: “The McGettigan family have suffered a great loss. It has caused a darkness to descend on us all.
He recalled how they chatted about her “concern for her brother PJ” and “like so many of you, am struggling to comprehend what happened. Why? How?”
