The café opened two years ago

The team behind The Little Peacock on Rose Lane confirmed the news ‘with great sadness’ on social media. The decision to close was made due to a combination of ‘financial factors’ and ‘significant changes in personal circumstances’ they said.

“A combination of financial factors – increased supply costs, energy prices and a coming rate rise – coupled with significant changes in personal circumstances, have meant that we are no longer able to continue. The friends went on to thank customers ‘from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the last two years.’ They added: “It has been a wonderful ride, and we’ve been honoured and delighted to get to know you and your children, watch them grow and change, and be a part of your lives. It’s what has made the hard work, long hours and stress worthwhile, and it truly has been worthwhile.

The pair confirmed the ‘Toddler Trims’ business, which operates at the cafe, will continue. They added: “We are obviously gutted about the impact that this will have on our staff team as a whole, and want to thank them for their hard work, humour and general loveliness!
