The illicit drugs were discovered on an unaccompanied freight unit which had disembarked a ferry from Bilbao, Spain
On Saturday, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of Revenue ’s x-ray scanner and detector dog Jasper, Revenue officers seized approximately 783 kgs of herbal cannabis and 70 kgs of cannabis resin at Rosslare Europort.
Today's seizure comes in the wake of the seizure of contraband worth almost €617,000 in Dublin and the Midlands over the course of the last week. Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €24,500, were also seized. The various quantities of other illicit drugs seized comprised: 128mls of cannabis oil, 1.16kgs of THC edibles, 41.7g of magic mushrooms and 11,215 Benzodiazepine, Diazepam, Zolpidem and Zopiclone tablets.
