Castlebar in Mayo has been named the best place in Ireland to work from home.Castlebar topped the list, due to house prices being lower and access to high-quality broadband and 5G mobile phone coverage.Switcher.ie's Remote Working Index, found the town had"reasonable house prices, a low crime rate, good access to health and top schools - it’s a great place to work from home and raise a family".
The study, by price comparison website Switcher.ie, found Longford town was the cheapest place to live with average prices of €162,899. Skerries, in north county Dublin, was named as the safest place to live with the lowest rate of crime per 1,000 people in 2021. Towns were also ranked in terms of well-being and access to leisure facilities by looking at the number of gyms, leisure centres, parks and walks, per 1,000 people.
