Tragic Cathy Ward stabbed to death in 'domestic violence incident and knew her attacker'
The horror incident happened shortly after midnight this morning at a house in the Greenfort Drive area of Clondalkin.
A source said that gardai believe that the woman was attacked in a domestic violence incident at the house and the suspect was known to her. The scene at Greenfort Drive is a short distance from Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and is in a densely populated housing estate.The Irish Mirror could see blood prints on the door of the house and when forensics officers entered the two storey terraced house blood was visible on the stairs banister.
Cathy and her husband Alan had spent time in the UK and it is believed that Alan had been ill with a stroke. “It is shocking - Alan had suffered a stroke recently and was understood to be struggling with language after it.”
