Founder of the Skin Nerd, Jennifer Rock, explains why our skin becomes dry and red in the colder weather and what we can do to combat it - plus why over-exfoliation is bad
January and February are some of the coldest months here in Ireland , which can wreak havoc on our skin.
Retinol is especially trendy, mainly due to its amazing properties, Jennifer says. “It synthesises collagen, it helps with the dilation of pores, clears pigmentation, aids the healing of solar damage, reduces redness and the secretion of oil... who wouldn’t want to use it?” It’s important to get into the habit of doing a skincare routine, Jennifer continues. “Your routine should involve cleansing, hydrating, seruming, using a retinoid and using an SPF.”
Dryness Winter can bring a lot of skin issues to the fore, with redness and dryness top of the list, according to Jennifer.
