Many people are shopping around to find the best bargains
The cheapest supermarket to stock up on summer essentials this year has been named - and it's not Lidl, Asda or Tesco.
Personal finance experts at money.co.uk have conducted research to discover which supermarket is the cheapest this summer, and have crowned Aldi the winner. The supermarket came out on top for BBQ goods for the second year in a row. The supermarket offers a luxury BBQ basket for £65.12 on average, a stark contrast to pricier food store Waitrose, where a similar basket comes in at £159.56. Though Waitrose did fair better when it comes to vegetarian food, with its plant-based BBQ options costing around £10.68 for two people, which was cheaper than supermarket favourite, Tesco.
