The new president and first lady Melania Trump flew into Washington on Saturday evening on Air Force One. That flight alone was symbolic of the new era. Four years have passed since the couple last travelled on the presidential aircraft, when Trump made an ignominious exit from the White House in the aftermath of the January 6th attacks on the Capitol and his decision not to attend the inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden .
