The assault occurred in the car park of the Clonsilla Inn in Dublin 15 on the evening of Sunday, February 2nd. Alexandru was hospitalized at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown and received treatment for several days before succumbing to his injuries.
Gardai (Irish police) have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to support Alexandru's family and cover the costs of repatriating his body to Moldova for a final farewell.
