Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay the legal costs of Nikita Hand ’s civil case, in which a jury found him guilty of rape in a Dublin hotel room in December 2018. The judge, Mr Justice Alexander Owens, also ruled that Ms Hand does not have to pay James Lawrence 's costs. The judge emphasized the inappropriateness of awarding Lawrence any part of his costs, despite his successful defense, due to the jury's clear belief in Ms Hand over McGregor and Lawrence.
