Updates from the seventh day of a civil case against Conor McGregor at the High Court in Dublin, where Nikita Hand is seeking damages
Nikita Hand is suing Mr McGregor and James Lawrence - who both deny her claim of assault at the penthouse suite Beacon Hotel in Sandyford, Dublin on December 9, 2018.
The trial resumes for its seventh day this morning, when the cross-examining of Mr McGregor will continue.Mr Lawrence is asked if he noticed any blood on the condom when he took it off. Mr Lawrence replies: "No."Mr Gordon returns to the Garda interviews with Mr Lawrence. Mr Lawrence says "she , definitely in her own head, does not believe I had sex with her, so therefore why am I here." Mr Gordon asks did he notice if Ms Hand had a tampon on. Mr Lawrence says no.
Mr Gordon asks him did he not know where he was going and does he normally go out not knowing where he is going. Mr Gordon says that between Mr Lawrence getting the condoms and Mr McGregor wanting to leave, there's about an hour. Mr Lawrence says he's not sure on the times. Mr Gordon says that on no occasion did the security guard see Lawrence have sex with Ms Kealey. Mr Lawrence responds that "if I was having sex with Danielle, he wouldn't just let himself in, he'd knock".
"I asked her what was wrong, she wouldn't tell me," Mr Lawrence said, adding that she was asking him what she was going to tell her boyfriend.Commenting on Ms Hand and Mr McGregor in the hotel, Mr Lawrence says: "We didn't hear anything other than moaning and sex that she was enjoying."Mr Lawrence says: "I don't know how she got the bruises. Like I said, she didn't get them from me and as far as I know. she didn't get them from Conor.
Mr Gordon says that we have had useful evidence from Mr Denzari. He says Mr Denzari described arriving at the Beacon hotel at around 2.30. Mr Gordon says that Mr Denzari says that when they got there for the first hour or so, security men were in the sitting room with them. Mr Lawrence says he's not sure.
"I would describe the sex as soft sex which we both enjoyed. I am not responsible for the marks you have shown me today," Mr Lawrence told Gardai, stating that he was "shocked" by what he had seen.Mr Lawrence says: "When I had sex with her, she had none of them bruises on her... I'm after telling you I didn't put any bruises on her.
"On the internet it was every page about a sportstar. I read on two girls in a hotel and it was more and more close. I didn't discuss the night or anything." He says he got a voice note from Mr McGregor saying he was going to his solicitor. He decided to do the same thing.Mr Lawrence says Ms Hand became upset"Nikita asked me to ask Denis to leave the room," Mr Lawrence says. "I asked Denis. When he left, me and Nikita then had sex for the second time.
"I would stand up to my own father, brother or anyone that done that. I come from a family of women," Mr Lawrence says. "We had sex on the same bed me and Danielle had. The sofa bed," Mr Lawrence says, adding that he didn't notice any marks on Ms Hand. "We were there another half hour after that and Nikita and Conor came back into the room. Conor was asking me what I was doing. It was probably around 5, 5.30. There was a discussion about leaving.
"Nikita became flirtatious with me. Smacking me on the bum, trying to kiss me, stuff like that. I was with her friend 3 times. I had no drive. 14, 15 times she tried to come at me, kiss me. "I had sex in total with Danielle three times," Mr Lawrence adds. "I remember this for a fact because I used all three condoms."
"Danielle turned to me and said well that won't be happening between us. I told her that's up to her and she said no problem. Between all this, Nikita was coming back in and out of the room, getting drinks, having a laugh with Danielle. She was in good spirits," Mr Lawrence says. He says he didn't see much drink. He says, from his house on, there was no cocaine taken and he took no cocaine. He says he thinks the girls had a can between them.
"We all had drinks. I'm not much of a drinker, I poured myself a drink and was having a sup of that. We all started off in the sitting room basically. Having a laugh listening to Christmas songs. Conor and Nikita were flirtatious," Mr Lawrence says, adding that in the car, they were "coming onto each other"."One thing I can 100 per cent remember is that the door was open the whole night," Mr Lawrence says.
Asked what the next thing he remembers is, Mr Lawrence says: "My next memory I had was being woken by Conor" at around 10.30, 11 in the morning. Mr Lawrence says Mr McGregor wanted to use the toilet in the house and wanted to see if Mr Lawrence wanted to come out with him. "I can't say I did or I didn't," Mr Dezdari says. He is told by counsel that he did say that to the guards.Mr Dezdari confirms he saw the two girls and Mr McGregor in the sitting room. He is asked were they all dressed and he says yes.
Mr Dezdari had said the dark-haired girl and Mr Lawrence were talking when he got there. He confirms he stayed with them when they ate burgers and chips. Then he checked in a half hour later and the girl said they wanted to stay. "They just say they want to stay more," he says.Under cross examination, Mr Dezdari confirms he did this type of work with Mr McGregor frequently. He is asked would it be common for him to order rooms and come back with people he hadn't met before.
"Most of the time I went in they were out in the same room. Another time I went and seen James and one of the girls and Conor was in another room with another girl. The door was open," Mr Dezdari says. Mr Dezdari is asked about a conversation with Mr Lawrence. He says Mr Lawrence asked him to go and get something.
Mr Farrell asks about a Garda interview where Mr McGregor was given warnings about what he doesn’t say can be used in evidence and if it was then that he mentioned Mr Lawrence.Mr Gordon is now referring to Mr McGregor’s Garda interview again. Mr McGregor is asked why Ms Hand was terrified. Mr Remy Farrell, SC, interjects and says “this is absurd”.
