Energy expert Gordon Wallis from Your NRG provides has shared some simple adjustments you can make in your household to save on energy bills as the autumn/winter season arrives
From minimising use of our tumble dryer - a notorious energy user - to opting for a hot water bottle instead of leaving the heat on overnight, we all have our own trick to keeping bills low.
“Using a dishwasher instead of hand washing, when it's fully loaded, can actually save on water and energy. Every cycle with 80% of the energy used by a dishwasher goes toward water heating. Many allow you to save up to 20% in energy alone by using less water at a lower temperature, and get the dishes cleaned to the same standard over a longer amount of time. If you are using your dishwasher very frequently, this could add up to hundreds over the course of the year.
