The former RTE television presenter turned barrister and politician had an incredibly successful career at the public broadcaster before stepping away from the spotlight
Cynthia Ni Mhurchu was one of RTE’s biggest television presenters before she stepped away from the public broadcaster.
Cynthia explained that she didn’t intend to leave RTE when she started studying law, however, she and her husband found themselves at a turning point in their lives. “It seemed to be very complementary to what I was doing. I didn’t intend to jump ship from RTE after four years of doing the degree, but the opportunity arose. I said, ‘It’s either now or never’.
Cynthia shared: “A lot of people said that I was absolutely mad and why would I start all over again. They spoke about income and all those changes.
