A status orange alert has been put in place with Storm Kathleen bringing very strong and gusty southerly winds to all areas today, with severe and damaging gusts in the south and west
Met Eireann have named Storm Kathleen the 11 th storm of the 2023/2024 season with it sweeping across Ireland leaving a trail of destruction and fallen trees.
In response to this impending weather event, Met Eireann has issued a nationwide yellow wind warning effective for Saturday.
