The actor was part of the BBC soap for a decade playing Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter
EastEnders actor Danny Dyer has explained why he left his Mick Carter role on the show. After playing the Queen Vic landlord for almost a decade, the actor left the BBC show last Christmas.
Now he has taken a swipe at some of his co-stars, adding that he left the soap when standards began to lower, reports Birmingham Mail. He said: "The first few years we f****** smashed it. It was powerful s***. The viewer listened to us more than these f****** politicians. "I was blessed with some amazing storylines, some s**te ones as well. They f***** it up towards the end. It’s a shame it had to come to an end but I’d f****** had enough."The Sun reports that Danny grew a little tired of some of his cast mates, including Phil Mitchell actor Steve McFadden. It came after Danny's character took control of the Queen Vic which historically was part of the Mitchell family legacy.
Speaking at a fan Q&A in London on Monday night, Danny said: "I’ve worked with a lot of actors that are ****s, very selfish, it’s all about them. You need to look after your other actors. It’s about teamwork and looking after each other." He previously said on being famous: "I am just a working-class kid and fame never suited me. You have to conform to a certain way of behaving. Being famous does f*** your nut up. You can lose the plot for many years. You’ve got to remember who you are."
