League of Ireland side Derry City will add significantly to their stadium capacity with this new development.
Derry City have appointed a contractor to construct a new North Stand in their Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Planning permission for the partial demolition of the Southend Stand and the development of a safe standing covered terrace, male and female toilet facilities, additional turnstiles and access gates was granted last October. The development will add 1,800 seats, but when used as a safe standing terrace the added capacity would increase to 2,600. Currently, the capacity of the Brandywell is 3,500.
