Doireann Garrihy has hosted 2FM Breakfast for the final time alongside co-hosts Carl Mullan and Donncha O'Callaghan, after announcing she was leaving the station earlier this month
The beloved RTÉ star couldn't hold back the tears on Friday morning as she presented her last breakfast show on Friday alongside Carl Mullan and Donncha O'Callaghan, reports RSVP Live.
She continued with gratitude towards the 2FM team: "I love you all and thank you so much for being so welcoming back in 2019 when I walked in the door and I didn't know anyone. It's an amazing place to work." Following Eoghan's abrupt exit in 2021, the breakfast show was reshaped with Carl, who had been hosting weekend breakfast, and Donncha, transitioning from his role on the sports show Game On, joining Doireann to start the day.
"To the loyal 2FM listeners, through thick and thin you've been there. Your support has meant everything. There wasn't a day I didn't hop out of the bed at 5am. Thank you for welcoming me with open ears back in 2019 and every day since. Producer Grace, you're a boss, a queen, a friend for life. Willem, it's been an absolute pleasure. Thank you to Dan Healy for meeting me in 2019 and taking a chance on me. I'm so glad you did.
