The Dancing with the Stars presenter apologised again for her role in the controversy, and recalled that it 'wasn't a pleasant time'
Dancing with the Stars presenter Doireann Garrihy has apologised again for her part in the controversy surrounding brand partnerships among RTÉ staff, recalling that it “wasn’t a pleasant time”.
On tonight’s Late Late Show, Doireann was contrite about the controversy and took the opportunity to apologise again.“I made a mistake at the time and, obviously, I have a responsibility working for the national broadcaster. I shouldn’t have done it, I was reprimanded at the time,” Doireann recalled.Asked about the “trolls” she has to deal with online, the presenter and podcaster said she generally has a very positive view of social media.
“Before I ever started with 2FM, I built this community and they’ve been amazing. Of course, you’re always going to get the one percent, no more than the Late Late Show gets the one percent. Appearing alongside Mario Rosenstock, Doireann went toe-to-toe with the impressionist in a competition to see who did the better impersonation of Prime Time presenter Miriam O’Callaghan.
