The 39 year old lost to Jim Miller via guillotine choke in the second round of the prelims in Las Vegas and just before Miller’s post-fight interview in the octagon, Cerrone decided to lay down his gloves.Cerrone symbolically laid his gloves and cowboy hat down in the octagon
Cerrone never won a world title in the UFC, but his 36 outings inside the octagon across eleven years is Hall of Fame worthy in and of itself. His 23 victories is tied for second most wins in UFC history and he has six Fight of the Night bonuses in addition to seven Performance of the Night bonuses to his name. His 20 knockdowns are the most in UFC history.
