A man in his 30s was arrested by Gardai on suspicion of drink-driving after driving a small lorry through the busy Grafton Street in Dublin city on Saturday evening. The incident occurred around 5.20pm. He was released without charge pending further enquiries.
A motorist was arrested by Gardai on suspicion of drink-driving after he drove a small lorry through Grafton Street in Dublin city on Saturday evening.
Garda members who were on patrol on Grafton Street at the time stopped the vehicle and the driver, a man aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene. He has since been released without charge pending further enquiries. "Think you could get away with drinking and driving? The driver of this lorry thought so, just as he started driving down Grafton Street at rush hour right in front of our members who were on the beat," a garda spokesperson said.This detection falls under the remit of Operation Citizen.
