Dublin Airport Authority faces a court battle over a passenger cap while reporting a record November with 2.5 million passengers. The DAA aims to meet the demand for around 37 million passengers annually but faces restrictions.

The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), managing Dublin and Cork airports, reported a record 2.5 million passengers in November. The DAA, currently in court over a controversial passenger cap , has so far seen 31 million passengers this year and expects to exceed the 32 million cap soon. DAA CEO Kevin Jacobs stated the company is complying with the cap but believes there is demand for around 37 million passengers annually.

The court case may end up in Luxembourg before the European Court of Justice, which could clarify the precedence of European slots regulation and the Open Skies agreement over domestic planning
