The ban is only in place from 7am to 7pm every day following a decision by Dublin City Council executives to weaken restrictions.“It's when you get to O'Connell Bridge, whether you're coming from either side, where the changes are,” she said. “If you flip that and go to the other side, you have the same issue - you can't go across O'Connell Bridge, so you can either go down left on D’Olier Street or right onto O'Connell Bridge.”

“The argument is that it's actually to relieve chaos - the point of this is to give people options, because obviously if there are fewer cars on the road, the buses will move faster.
