The eldest son of the family is currently in Blanchardstown Hospital awaiting an operation for a heart pacemaker

A woman from Dublin has said she will sleep in a car "to prove" she is unable to get a home as her family faces homelessness.Dublin Live reports that for the last three years, the family have been living in a HAP home in Blanchardstown from Dublin City Council, however, they now have to leave due to her son’s deteriorating ill health.

Her eldest son has Marfan Syndrome, a genetic condition that causes elongation of the limbs, and an enlarged heart.Speaking to Dublin Live, the mum explained she "just can't bring him home to a place that is not suitable" for his special needs."There is a lot of damp in the house and he's in a wheelchair, he's over 6ft so I have to help him and the stairs are not an option.

"The council have offered me a three-bedroom apartment in Ballyfermot near extended family, this means everything would be on the one level which would be good. But it means that my teenage son and daughter would still have to share a bedroom." "The apartment is nowhere near ready. We have two carers that come in each day for my son, I live on a carer's allowance of €368 a week.
