Dublin proved too good for Derry in the National Football League fixture
Another win for Dublin, that's their third out of four in the League this season, and the final scoreline makes a mockery of the suggestion they are a team on the slide. The more accurate assessment is they are a new team on the up rather than an old one on the decline. Right across their team, they had a scoring threat. Con O'Callaghan got 0-4, Niall Scully 1-1, Sean Bugler, 0-6, Luke Breathnach 0-4, while Conor Tyrell and Lorcan O'Dell also got goals for the Leinster champions.
There is also the issue of confidence sinking. Since winning last year's league final, they have now won just one competitive match in regulation time, stumbling to last year's All-Ireland quarter-final, prior to this season, when they have now lost three out of four league games, drawing the other one. Relegation is on the cards for them, a place in the final the likely outcome for Dublin. To think at one stage they trailed 0-6 to 0-3 in this game.
