The residents were 'absolutely amazed' by the amount of food collected.
Pupils at St Michael's Primary School recently held aREAD MORE:The foodbank, which is run by staff and residents, offers tinned goods and dry foods, as well as clothes and toiletries to families or individuals in the area who need a helping hand.
Paul Lawson, customer relations manager, said:"We want to say a huge thank-you to Mrs Barbour and the children in the Pope Francis Faith Awards group who organised the collection, and an extra special thank-you to all those who donated."The Residents will spend hours sorting and packing the donations into the food bank and they get a lot of joy from organising and lending a hand to the local community.
