Ireland's Simon Easterby has received another injury setback ahead of the crucial Scotland match, with Tadhg Furlong and Joe McCarthy ruled out. Robbie Henshaw, who suffered a knee injury, is expected to be fit, while prop Finlay Bealham is progressing well. Dan Sheehan, making a comeback from a long-term injury, aims to earn a starting position.
Simon Easterby will have to plan without Tadhg Furlong and Joe McCarthy yet againThe news was less promising for prop Tadhg Furlong and secondrow Joe McCarthy, who will sit it out for a second weekend.
The former hooker added that for Furlong and McCarthy the trip to Murrayfield for Sunday’s match is likely to “come too soon” for the Leinster pair. Sheehan scored a try when he came into the match, something that has become a feature of his game. It was, he said, an emotional moment having missed out on the Autumn Nations Series having injured his ACL in South Africa last summer.
