Elon Musk said X had been hit by a 'massive' cyber attack and blamed the Democrats after viewers were left waiting more than 40 minutes for his rambling interview with Donald Trump
Elon Musk has blamed major tech issues which dogged his interview with Donald Trump on a "massive" cyber attack.
Mr Musk blamed an attack on X's system for disrupting proceedings, and posted on the social media platform: "There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down." He later appeared to accuse the US Democrats for attacking the site, which was named Twitter when he bought it in 2022. Responding to an X user who wrote "Is Dems fighting to 'save' Democracy from two massive disrupters!", Mr Musk replied "Yeah".
The Tesla and X boss did not directly mention his war of words with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the recent riots, but did raise the open letter posted by EU internal market boss Thierry Breton asking him not to spread disinformation when interviewing the former president.
