Photos from the scene show a 'basket stretcher' - used in water-based rescues - being wheeled along a path beside the river.
Emergency services were called to the Calder Water inside Calderglen Country Park on the outskirts of East Kilbride at around 11.20am. Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics are leading on the rescue effort, with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service officers providing operational assistance.
A water rescue support vehicle and an ambulance were parked at the front gates of the park at the edge of the A726 in South Lanarkshire. At least two fire engines and other equipment, including an inflatable jetty, were also brought to the scene. Crews remained at the park for approximately two hours.
Further details on the rescue are unavailable at this time. The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
