The FA will reportedly 'consider' appointing a foreign manager if Gareth Southgate resigns as England boss. Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel are thought to be interested. ThreeLions
It does appear that the FA are hoping Southgate stays on, though the report says the former defender is considering his future.
England’s women’s team did win the European Championships in the summer with Dutchwoman, Sarina Wiegman, at the helm. Furthermore, the consideration of foreign coaches would not make Tuchel or Pochettino automatic favourites to come in. Leicester manager Rodgers earns around £2million more than Southgate per year and the FA would need to pay the Foxes’ £8m in compensation.
