Imaginative new DC fan art transforms every Batman actor into the Riddler. The DC Comics character Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, has a long history on the screen, earning multiple television and film adaptations since the hero was first introduced in 1939.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The villain has earned a makeover in a new collage of images by artist Marc Rienzo, who posted artwork portraying several Batman actors as the Riddler via Instagram. Rienzo previously created a set of images re-imagining the same actors - Pattinson, Affleck, Bale, Kilmer, West, Clooney, and Keaton - as Batman's most well-known foe, the Joker.
Due to the sharp shift in the character of the Riddler in The Batman, considering which Batman actor would best fit as the Riddler depends on the villain's direction. For a darker, grounded, Dano-esque portrayal, Keaton would be a strong choice, as would Pattinson and Bale, based on each actor's success in serious, dramatic roles. Clooney, Kilmer, and Affleck are more overtly heroic figures, making it difficult to picture them in the villainous role.
In terms of the Batman actor best suited to a more cartoonish, classic portrayal of the Riddler, West would have been a strong contender. The actor managed to bring a certain iconic campiness to the role of Batman, leaning into the hero's absurdities while taking the part completely seriously, which would pair well with a turn as the Riddler.
