The tropical storm Ernesto is currently tracking towards the island of Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean, off the east coast of the US, but it could make its way towards Ireland

Tropical storm Ernesto is currently making its way towards Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean, off the east coast of the US. It's predicted to reach Category 2 hurricane status as it travels around the Caribbean.

For now it is way too long to say the outcome but the possibility is there for this system to bring wind and rain to Ireland."

According to Met Éireann, there will be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered outbreaks of rain on Wednesday, with highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees. There will be more sunny spells on Saturday interspersed with cloudy weather, and any showers that do arrive will be well-scattered, which should mean that festival goers at Electric Picnic are safe from a washout at the very least.
