Gardai seize explosives, guns and ammo in follow-up searches after operation targeting dissident republicans in Omeath, Co Louth
Explosives, guns and ammo have been recovered as gardai carried out follow-up searches after an operation targeting dissident republicans early last month.
The searches were carried out at lands in an area close to Omeath, Co Louth yesterday, 27 days after an operation in the Cooley Peninsula area that uncovered 1,000 rounds of ammo and a mortar tube on February 1.Yesterday's operation involved gardai from the Louth Garda Division, Special Detective Unit and Special Tactics and Operations Command.
