Father-of-two Scott Mitchell, 48, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to Milnfua, Alness, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The family of a dad who died following an alleged disturbance in the Highlands have said they have been left “devastated” by his “senseless loss”.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the dad-of-two’s death and has since appeared in court charged with murder. He made no plea and has been released on bail. It read: “Scott was a family man, father of two, son, uncle and great uncle to his family and loved by all that knew him. The family are devastated at the senseless loss of Scott.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Still added: “This was an isolated incident and there was no risk to the wider public.
