A restaurant in Lytham will close after one year of trading with the owner citing a decline in footfall and sales as being behind the decision.

Fino Tapas, which opened on Dicconson Terrace in the summer of 2021, will close the final time at the weekend. Fino Tapas had expanded after being founded in Preston by Mark O'Rourke with plans to expand into Chester and Kendal confirmed at the same time as Blackpool and Lytham.

However, while the Preston and now-open Blackpool sites have been described as 'thriving', the Lytham site proved to be less successful after a promising launch.Mark O'Rourke, who owns the Fino Tapas restaurants, said: "We have made the difficult decision to close our Lytham restaurant from Sunday, 14th August 2022, due to a decline in sales and footfall over the past six months of trading.

"When we initially launched Fino Tapas Lytham, we saw some great numbers; however, quite quickly, it became more sporadic and unfortunately isn’t sustainable for us to remain open. We have offered all our staff members their jobs across the remaining sites, which remain thriving, and across our new sites due to open in the coming weeks.

"We want to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful customers and employees for the past 12 months. Any vouchers can be used at our other sites or can be refunded when brought into Fino Lytham before Sunday, 14th August; alternatively, email info@finotapas.co.uk for a refund on any valid vouchers."

Mark O'Rourke also owns 263 in Preston, has plans to open the Bath House Bistro in the coming weeks and hopes to reopen his Mexican restaurant La Neta. Blackpool and Preston Fino sites remain open seven days a week.
