Flights costs could remain permanently expensive as aviation industry enjoys profitable summer ✈️ The boss of German airline Lufthansa has seen profits rise due to high demand and lower operating costs

Airlines like Lufthansa are realising that there is so much consumer demand to travel that they can charge more per seat Air fares have soared this summer amid a climate of late-notice cancellations and high demand, and prices will continue to stay high even after the peak travel period has passed.

EasyJet fares from Gatwick to Faro are around £145 one-way during BA’s flight sales suspension, dropping to around half as much after 15 August.
