Five deaths recorded on Irish roads since Sunday as gardai appeal for witnesses

The two most recent road fatalities occurred within minutes of each other at around 8am on Wednesday

Gardai have launched separate investigations after the Irish roads claimed two more lives on Wednesday.Both collisions happened within minutes of each other, at around 8am, gardai said.

The scene of the crash was sealed off all day on Wednesday as Garda forensic collision investigators began an investigation.A spokesman said: “Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Meanwhile, around the same time a woman in her early 20s was killed after her bicycle was struck by a truck near Dun Laoghaire.
