Nick Adderley was touted as a potential successor of Chief Constable Ian Hopkins in 2020
A senior former GMP officer is being being investigated by the police watchdog over 'potential misrepresentation of his military service'.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct said it had begun an investigation into what it described as concerns about Nick Adderley’s 'potential misrepresentation of his military service'. When Mr Adderley was moved and took over as the chief superintendent of the much bigger North Manchester division of GMP in 2013, in another interview with the M.E.N. it was reported that he spent 10 years in the Navy and served in the Falklands before joining the police.
"It is disappointing that someone has leaked such details about what I deem to be a very personal family issue that I have yet to respond to formally.
