Ireland aims to issue 1.9 million digital vaccine certs by July 19
Hundreds of thousands of fully vaccinated people are being urged to check their spam email folders for their digital Covid-19 travel cert.
Ms Canavan told TDs and Senators the digital wallet in the app is due to be in place between July 19 and July 24.The DCC will show proof of vaccination, proof of negative test, if required and the Covid-19 status of that person - whether they have recovered in the last six months. The helpline number for the digital certs is 1800 851 504 and it will be staffed by officials from the Department of Social Protection and Revenue.
"An interim emergency line will be in place from today and we are prioritising queries from people who are travelling in the very near future and have received their certificate.”Green Party Minister Ossian Smyth was forced to clarify comments made by Tourism Minister Catherine Martin on Tuesday after she said people who recovered from Covid-19 could get their digital certs from their GP.
