Gadsden police have arrested three people in connection with two fatal shootings last week.

Capt. Bobby Jackson said two men are being charged with capital murderTeaontari Jaqua “T.J.” Staten, 21, of Gadsden, and Stephon Antwan Jackson, 27, of Huntsville, are being held in the Etowah County Jail without bond. The two also face charges of attempted murder and first degree robbery.

Staten was arrested in Huntsville within 24 hours of Toney’s death, while Jackson was taken into custody in Huntsville five days after the shooting, Jackson said. Toney, 61, died at a local hospital after he was shot in a home on Carolyn Lane in the Oakleigh Estates subdivision around 9:20 p.m. Oct. 30. Two other people who were staying with Toney in the home managed to escape unharmed.has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a 17-year-old in East Gadsden on Nov. 3.The juvenile died following a shooting in the 100 block of Park Street at about 2:41 p.m. Nov. 3.
